生活中有很多事都能让我们得到启示，如小草顽强生长、蜜蜂勤劳采蜜、老师辛勤教育等。令我印象最深的，还是四年级时的一次英语测试。
英语课上，蒋老师正眉飞色舞地讲着课，临下课前，她对我们说：“明天英语要小测验，课后请大家认真复习。”“啊？”那些英语成绩不好的同学都叫苦不迭，而我和几个英语成绩非常好的同学都高兴不已，英语考试不是手到擒来的事嘛。
回到家，我把书包往沙发一扔，以最快的速度把作业写完，拿出电脑，看起了动画片，玩得不亦乐乎。晚上，妈妈回来了，我对她自信满满地说：“明天英语测试，一百分稳拿了。”妈妈以为我已经复习完了，就带我到小区散步去了。
第二天的英语课，老师一把试卷发下来，我就“唰唰唰”地写起来。我发现这些题都是我做过的，题目还没读完，我就开始答题，不一会儿就写完了。我开始东张西望，发现其他同学都还没写完呢，我得意了起来，竟忘了检查。“张琼月，你做完了就交卷吧。”蒋老师温和地说道。于是，我在众目睽睽之下，得意地昂着头，交了试卷。没过一会，蒋老师轻声对我说：“下课后去我办公室一趟。”
“叮铃铃”下课的铃声响了，我来到了蒋老师办公室，“老师，有什么事吗？”蒋老师严肃地对我说：“看看你的试卷吧。”说完，她把试卷递给我。我一下子看到了鲜红的分数“90分”，“天呐！这是怎么回事？”蒋老师又严厉地对我说：“你知道为什么考不好吗？因为你没有仔细读题，更没有认真检查，你太骄傲了。”听了老师的'话，我羞愧地低下了头。
走出老师办公室，我分析了这次考试失利的原因：我太骄傲了，没有认真对待这次测试。“谦虚使人进步，骄傲使人落后”，我不由想到了这句至理名言，吸取了这次教训，这句话也深深地记在了我的心里。
